A Cottage By The Harbour
6 Glyn Terrace, Borth-y-Gest, is a spacious 3 bedroom terraced cottage, 2 minutes walk from the harbour and its cafes. Colourful painted houses overlook the boats and nestle into the surrounding hills. A perfect location for good walks, beach activities and an ice cream (or beer!) to finish up.
Beach Days and Coastal Views
People visit for the wonderful sandy beaches a short walk away along the coastal path, with fantastic views out to Portmeirion and Harlech. There are rocks to climb and rock pools for the children to play in at low tide. The Gulf Stream provides a warm microclimate, making the water irresistible.
Nearby Town and Railways
Borth-y-Gest is a 5 minute drive from Porthmadog, which has several supermarkets and a good range of shops to provide for your holiday. You can also walk there in 15 minutes, along the harbour and down past the sailing club. Porthmadog was the centre of the Welsh slate industry and as such, is a main calling point on 3 of the most interesting narrow gauge railways in the country – the Ffestiniog, Welsh Highland Railway and the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway. Steam trains cross the Cob, heading for Beddgelert or Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Ideal Base for North Wales
Snowdonia National Park is also close by – excellent walks or climbs of varied difficulty, or a train to the top to enjoy the view without the effort. The cottage is ideally situated for so many different activities – beaches, boats, climbing, biking, rail enthusiasts and fishing – or simply relax and get away from it all.
